The Movie Industry is making a Big Boom in ATL, but the Voice over Industry is Making Some Noise of Its Own

Atlanta has truly made its mark in the movie industry; hosting up major movie sets and serving as a backdrop to box office hits, but, little has been said about its potential underling: the voice over industry.

ATLANTA, GA, February 19, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ — “With Atlanta becoming the third most active film and television market in the country, the impact on the VO industry is indeed affected in a positive manner,” says Jeffrey Umberger, a voice over industry expert and agent from Umberger Agency; a premier Atlanta voice over talent agency. “With more local production, I have noticed an up-tic in opportunities for our VO actors which would otherwise be isolated to other markets. It’s a boon for everyone here, VO included,” he adds.

Umberger joins a host of voice over experts for the 2nd Annual VO Atlanta Conference, the largest voiceover conference in the southeast, he is proud to be providing information and services to professionals from all over the country. Hosted by VoiceoverCity (VOC), along with several major sponsors who include, Edge Studio, ACX (an Amazon platform),, and Sennheiser USA, are putting together the major, 4 day, industry event which will include direct access to educational resources, voiceover professionals and agents; along with coaches and trainers with industry tips and insights for professional advancement.

VOC Founder, Gerald Griffith, is confident that the VO Atlanta Conference will have a major draw from a national audience as the conference promises to offer some of the very best in experts and talent within the industry. The impressive line-up is to include presenters from all over the country that have worked in every aspect of the voiceover industry, such as award winning talent, Bob Bergen, Emmy Winner Stevie Vallance, and Emmy Winning motivational speaker, Lauren Hudson, who will open up the conference at the Jump Start reception.

“We are excited to be on the cutting edge of this industry,” says VOC Founder, Gerald Griffith, “VoiceoverCity has a lot to offer professionals, and beginners, seeking professional development at every level, and the conference is just the tip of the iceberg,” adds Griffith.

The 2014 conference includes a scholarship award towards attendance at the conference, live panel discussions, and a voiceover contest. To foster networking and community, lunch is included during the event. The conference is being held at Hilton Atlanta Airport, March 20th-23rd, 2014.
