Blair MacDougall is the founder and Director of Waterford Energy Services Inc., otherwise known as WESI, a Nova Scotia-based consulting firm that provides engineers and other personnel to offshore oil and gas operators. With a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Francis Xavier University in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland, Blair spent the first chapter of his career serving as an engineer and project manager for several large offshore oil and gas producers. His time as an engineer provided Blair experience in a range of international offshore drilling projects and allowed him to travel and work in countries such as Angola, Equatorial Guinea, the UK, China, India, Ghana and the United States.
In 2003, Blair founded Waterford Energy Services Inc., which remains his business focus to this day. As the Director and Senior Consultant for WESI, Blair oversees an expanding network of engineers and other knowledge experts as they assist an array of international-based oil and gas exploration and production companies.
Besides his work with WESI, Blair is also a regular speaker on offshore drilling topics and recently spoke at the Core Energy Conference in Halifax on the topic of deepwater offshore oil exploration potential in Nova Scotia.
Outside of his career, Blair enjoys spending time with his wife and children and is an active youth soccer and hockey coach.
