Mark Attanasio is a financial services executive and co-founder and Managing Partner of Hillcrest Merchant Partners, a Toronto-based merchant bank and venture capital firm focused on early stage and mid-market growth companies. During his career in the investment and finance sector, Mark has gained significant experience in advising clients in areas that include raising capital, merger & acquisitions, and general capital market advisory.
Mark began his career as a Chartered Accountant and spent four years a PricewaterhouseCoopers in Audit and Advisory Services, while earning his Chartered Accountant (CA, CPA) designation.
In 2003, Mark joined National Bank Financial, where he spent the next 11 years of his career. Mark started in the Mergers & Acquisitions group at National Bank, then served four years as Director of Global Equity Derivatives.
In 2014, Mark was hired by Dundee Corporation as the Executive Vice President of Merchant Banking, where he was part of the executive team that oversaw a large portfolio of investments in multiple sectors. From there, he was appointed President of Dundee Capital Markets, where he managed all aspects of the capital markets business.
In 2017, Mark led a management buyout of Dundee Capital Markets and became co-founder and CEO of Eight Capital, formerly known as Dundee Capital Markets.
Mark Attanasio served as CEO of Eight Capital until he co-founded Hillcrest Merchant Partners in 2017.
Mark graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor’s degree in Science. Mark and his family are active supporters in a range of charitable initiatives, including United Way Greater Toronto, the Down Syndrome Association of Toronto, and the Children’s Aid Foundation, among others.
